Responses to the disaster

Copies of poems, an illuminated scroll from the staff and inmates of HMP Lewes, co. Sussex, and a certificate of 65 trees planted in the Ness Ziona Children's Forest, Israel, in response to the loss of life.

Also copies of 'The red book', the Ladycross year-book, for 1965, 1971, 1972 (extracts) and 1973/4, containing contributions by or relating to Christopher Morgan, and a school prospectus, c.1974. Also letters from parents and pupils, 1975-1980, some relating to Chris Morgan's organised cycle tours.

Copies of 'Rumpus' poetry magazine, no's 1-6 (two copies of each, edited by Christopher Morgan), and related papers. The first two numbers are undated, and are assumed to be late 1968 and early 1969.

Poetry collections containing contributions by Christopher Morgan, including 'No walls broadsheet', no's 1-4, 6-11, 13-16 (no's 5 and 12 missing), 1968-1969; 'Quickest way out', no. 2, [post 1969]. Also a Glamorgan College of Education Anglo-Welsh Poetry Manuscript Exhibition catalogue, comprising entries by 22 poets, 1975, including Dannie Abse, Alison Bielski, Gillian Clarke, Antony Conran, Roland Mathias and Christopher Morgan. Also 'Selected poems by Paul L. Weare'.

Original file of carbon copies and photocopies of typescript poems by Tony Curtis, the few dated items being 1969-1971. Also 'Pierce (a play for television)' and three articles or short stories. Also a few poems by Christopher Morgan and Matt Simpson, also undated, a postcard from Ian [Robinson] and a Brynmill Press book catalogue, 1983.

Children's culture

'Playground and street games record cards', mainly versions of tag / touch, written by boys in Forms 1M and 1R of Neath grammar school, being homework set by Christipher Morgan, March 1971, and a copy of 'Sawdsheet Three', a cyclostyled publication of the Department of English, University College, Swansea, Easter 1973, containing research into the lore and language of Monmouthshire schoolchildren, and an addition to the checklist of dialect words in co's Brec., Glam., Mon. and Rad.

Castile magazine

Copies of 'Castile', vol. 1, no's 2-3, undated, including poems by Christopher Morgan. 'Castile' was edited by Richard Thomas, and stated to be the successor to 'The New Clynian', which had been established in the beginning of the 1960s. 'Castile' was probably a Swansea University student / English Department publication, with contributions from the students of Neuadd Gilbertson, Neuadd Martin and Beck Hall.

St Illtyd's College, Cardiff, and juvenalia
