Calendar,

A calendar, 1596, in the hand of Thomas Evans, giving additional entries to Mostyn MS 88. The manuscript also includes the Compot Manual and texts on astronomy, also in the hand of Thomas Evans.
According to a note on f. 54 this manuscript is a transcript of a manuscript by or belonging to 'E. D.'.

A collection of materials for the making of a Welsh Dictionary, including vocabularies; glosses; poetry; quotations from poetry, the Welsh Laws and the Romances; proverbs; and a list of words borrowed from Latin.

Gramadegau a cherddi,

A manuscript partly in the hand of Simwnt Fychan comprising vocabularies; grammatical texts; texts on the rules of cynghanedd; poetry of Hywel Cae Llwyd (possibly in his hand) and others; and pedigrees.

Y Brutiau,

The set of historical texts: Ystoria Dared (ff. 1-17, cols 1-66); Brut y Brenhinedd (ff. 17 verso-89, cols 67-441) and Brut y Tywysogion (ff. 89 verso-143, cols 443-665); followed by Brut y Saeson (ff. 143-145 verso, cols 665-76), breaking off abruptly in the year 979. All are very close to the corresponding texts in the Red Book of Hergest [see Brut y Tywysogyon: Red Book of Hergest Version, ed. and trans. Thomas Jones (Cardiff, 1955), pp. xxviii-xxix, and Studia Celtica, 12/13 (1977/78), 176]. All are written in two columns by the Red Book scribe, X91, with 2- and 3-line initials in red. Lacunae due to the loss of leaves 1 and 10 in quire 5, the whole of original quire 9, leaves 5 and 6 of quire 17, and the final quire. On the erratic foliation, see below; J. Gwenogvryn Evans numbered the columns allowing, however, in his numeration for the columns that would have been in lacunae. The text of the original f. 1 made good by a hand of [16-17 cent.] on a supplied leaf (f. 1). Headings in textura by a hand of [15 cent.] (e.g. ff. 59 verso, 87); annotation and textual correction by several hands of [15 cent.] and [16 cent.] (e.g. ff. 41 recto-verso and 93, ff. 79 and 82, ff. 94 verso and 114 verso, f. 56, f. 123 verso, ff. 127 verso and 135 verso). Rebound in [16-17 cent.]; at this rebinding quires were signed I-XVII, skipping a number somewhere between VII and XI (= quire 10).

Y Lucidar,

An early 15th century manuscript comprising Lucidar; Kyssegr Lan Fuchedd; the Penityas; and Cyffes y Pechadur, written in a hand which is similar to that of the Mabinogion in the Red Book of Hergest.

Gwasanaeth y Wynfidedig Fair,

A mid-15th century manuscript comprising the Office of the Blessed Virgin; prayers; Y Groglith; Ystoria y Grog o Hynt Elen i Gaersalem; and a Calendar.
Pp. 5-10, 61-2 are in the hand of W. W. E. Wynne, Esq. of Peniarth.

Gwasanaeth y Fendigaid Fair,

The office of the Blessed Virgin Mary, translated from Latin by Dafydd Ddu Hiraddug; and part of a calendar.
The text agrees with, and supplies the lacunae in, the text of Peniarth MS 191.

Gwehelyth,

A mid-16th century manuscript comprising pedigrees and notes concerning pedigrees; notes on grammar; lists of words; and poetry.
The notes relating to pedigrees may be in the hand of Gruffudd Hiraethog.

Trwydded pencerdd Gruffudd Hiraethog,

A roll containing a copy of the Statute of Gruffudd ap Cynan in the hand of Gruffudd Hiraethog (f. 1); together with the original licence of Gruffudd Hiraethog as Pencerdd, (1545/6) (f. 2).
Ancilliary papers included with the manuscript are a note on the contents of the manuscript, [?18 cent.] (f. 3); a transcript of the Pencerdd licence by W. W. E. Wynne (f. 4); a letter from Tho[ma]s Price, Llandrillo, to Wynne, 11 January 1861, referring to Price's translation of [?the Statute] (ff. 6-7; the translation is not present in the present manuscript); a typescript translation of the licence, [20 cent, first ½] (f. 5); and a xerox copy, [20 cent, first ½], probably of the label on the box in which the manuscript was formerly kept (f. 8).

Brudiau, &c.,

A manuscript in several hands comprising prophecies; poetry; and a list of the contents of the library at Llannerch.
Pp. 145-182 are apparently in the hand of the Reverend Ellis Wynne of Lasynys.

Poetry of various poets of the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries copied mostly by the Reverend David Ellis.
At the beginning of the manuscript there are seven poems of Rice Jones.

The Book of Taliesin,

A collection of Welsh poetry compiled by one scribe in the first half of the fourteenth century.
The volume includes poems relating to the historical/folklore character Taliesin including poems to Urien Rheged, Armes Prydain Fawr.

Brut y Tywysogion and grammar,

Secular and religious prose and narrative texts by three scribes dating from c. 1330.
The texts include a biblical history (p. 1); Brut y Tywysogion (p. 65), with a continuation from 1282 to 1332 (p. 292); Kyfoesi Myrddin a Gwenddydd (p. 302); and a Welsh grammar (p. 305).

Y Cynfeirdd Cymreig,

A modern transcript by Richard Thomas of Gossymdaith Llefoed Wynebclawr, Englynion yr Eryr, Englynion y Clyweid, Eiry mynydd, Cyvoessi Myrddin and others; and Englynion y Beddau from the book of Sir T. Williams, which was compared with a book by W. Salesbury of Llanrwst, 1776.
The first 54 pages contain the text, followed by 26 blank pages; after which there is a sketch of Isallt, near Penmorfa, which was the home of Dr Gruffudd Roberts in 1782.

Elegies of the Wynne family,

Eulogies of and elegies to the Wynne family and their ancestors, transcribed from manuscripts at Brogyntyn (Porkington), Hengwrt, and other collections, [13th February 1835].
There are also two items tipped in and four loose items, including a letter and copies of poems of 'Meurig Ebrill' [Morris Davies]. The date 'Feb 13th 1835' is on the cover. The last 38 pages are blank.
