Letters of David Ivon Jones,

About three hundred and fifty autograph letters and pictorial postcards, 1907-1913, written principally to George Eyre Evans by David Ivon Jones, a native of Aberystwyth and grandson of John Jones ('Ivon'), from New Zealand and South Africa, together with a few letters and picture postcards from W. M. Roberts, North East Valley, Dunedin to George Eyre Evans, and from W. Tudor Jones, Wellington to David Ivon Jones; and printed matter.

One hundred and fifty-nine autograph letters and postcards, and a few Christmas cards, 1904, addressed principally to George Eyre Evans and primarily of Unitarian and genealogical interest.
Among the correspondents are Frances Power Cobbe; Richard Ellis, Oxford; Walter Jenkin Evans; Henry Harold Hughes, Bangor; William James, Llandysul; Morgan Hugh Jones, Carmarthen; Rees Jenkin Jones, Aberdare; William Tudor Jones, Swansea; Lewes Thomas Loveden Pryse, Gogerddan; Edith Spurrell; Daniel Lleufer Thomas; and Herbert Millingchamp Vaughan. Also included are notes by Walter Jenkin Evans on Bridgend and Bettws Unitarian (previously Congregational) churches; a printed poem in English by Evan Ceredig Jones, 1904; and an index to the entire volume prepared by George Eyre Evans in January 1905.

Letters, etc., relating to Cardiganshire,

Two bound volumes containing about four hundred and thirty autograph letters and postcards, 1903-1904, written to George Eyre Evans in connection with his appeal for subscribers to his Cardiganshire: A Personal Survey of Some of its Antiquities, Chapels, Churches, Fonts, Plate and Registers (Aberystwyth, 1903).
The names of almost all the writers appear in the published list of 'Subscribers'.

Aberystwyth miscellanea,

An album compiled by George Eyre Evans, containing a collection of one hundred and ninety-five autograph letters, manuscript poems and other documents, printed notices, broadsides, circulars, photographs, etc., of Aberystwyth interest. The majority relate to the Aberystwyth Dispensary, later known as the Aberystwyth Infirmary, and particularly to the payment of subscriptions, 1821-1844. Others relate to the erection and renovation of St Michael's Church, 1825-1846; the restoration of the parish church of Llanbadarn Fawr, 1867; the opening of the Public Library, 1906; and the Exhibition of the Centenary of the Introduction of Printing, 1909.
Included in the volume is a typescript schedule of the documents.

An album of bookplates acquired by George Eyre Evans by exchange, including many of Continental and American origin; together with autograph and printed covering letters, 1896-1906.

Diary and letters,

A typewritten copy made for George Eyre Evans of the diary of George Eyre Powell, 1810-1843 (NLW MS 13271A, above), together with typewritten copies of letters, dated between 1820 and 1841, from George Eyre Powell to his wife, Catherine, and to his daughter, Ophelia, and from Catherine Powell to her husband, and of testimonials to George Eyre Powell from Captain Edmund Palmer, Admiral Sir Charles Rowley, bart, Sir William Hoste, bart., Captain Herbert Brace Powell, Captain W. Sargent, and Captain F. E. Lock. The original letters and copies of the testimonials are to be found in NLW MS 13563E. Also included are three letters and a receipt, dated 1914, from the Association of Women Clerks and Secretaries to George Eyre Evans concerning the typing of the volume. English. Commonplace book,

A commonplace book which belonged to Mrs. Catherine Powell. The name 'Catherine Kingdon' is to be found within the volume. English. Formerly George Eyre Evans Bequest MS 10.

Memoranda and commonplace book,

A volume containing memoranda, dated 1840-41, of Ophelia Catherine Powell (1823-1866), daughter of George Eyre Powell and Catherine, his wife, afterwards wife of the Rev. Professor David Lewis Evans, and a commonplace book of poetry and some prose items kept by the said Ophelia Powell between January 1843 and July 1854. Other items included in the volume are an incomplete letter, dated at Colyton 20 Dec. 1846, addressed to 'Miss Powell with J.T.'s [?the Rev. James Taplin] affectionate regards', and the substance of a funeral address and a sermon delivered by the Rev. James Taplin in 1845. English. Formerly George Eyre Evans Bequest MS 12.
