Sending as Secretary a copy of the resolution of the Committee of the Cymmrodorion Society in Powys held at Newtown that day that a gratuity of £10 be transmitted to the addressee who is engaged in writing a History of Wales, in consideration of his great services in the cause of Welsh Literature and on account of his eminent qualifications for his important undertaking. On the dorse is a note concerning the will of Mary Basset of Lantrissent, 1720. This letter seems to have been sent to the addressee with the compliments of John Jenkins, Vicar of Kerry, co. Mont. (Franked by C. W. Williams Wynn and addressed to Mr Edward Williams, Miss Margaret Williams, Milliner, Bridgend, Glamorgan).
