[Military Camp]

A military camp n the distance, the middle distance of the photograph showing a line of mounted horsemen presumably engaged in a training exercise.

D C Harries, Rhosmaen Street, Llandilo.

[Veteran wearing two medals]

Half-length studio portrait of a smartly dressed veteran. On his left breast he sports two medals. Reference to the medal ribbons suggests they may be the India Medal and the Ashanti Medal, both late C19th.

D C Harries, Rhosmaen Street, Llandilo.

[Territorial Soldier in the Pembroke Yeomanry]

Three quarter length portrait of a soldier in the Pembroke Yeomanry. The embroidered star on his lower right sleeve is a Territorial Proficiency Star awarded to Territorial Force soldiers after four (or five - depending on the colour) years proficient service.

D C Harries, Rhosmaen Street, Llandilo.

[Large group portrait]

Formal group portrait of approximately 75 officers and men of the Pembroke Yeomanry. The presence of a tent on one side of the image suggests that this was taken at a Territorial Army Camp in the years preceding the outbreak of the First World War.

D C Harries, Rhosmaen Street, Llandilo.

[Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant, Pembroke Yeomanry]

Three quarter length portrait of a veteran soldier in the Pembroke Yeomanry with six proficiency stars and other insignia on his right sleeve. The four chevrons point upwards on his lower sleeve and the eight pointed star above the proficiency stars denote his rank as Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant.

D C Harries, Rhosmaen Street, Llandilo.

[Officers, Pembroke Yeomanry]

Five officers of the Pembroke Yeomanry photographed against a backdrop of a marquee. Probably photographed at a Territorial Force training camp. All are wearing medals, a number of which have a number of clasps and are probably the Queens South Africa Medal.

D C Harries, Rhosmaen Street, Llandilo.

Market Street, Llanrhaiadr.

Animated street scene, Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant. J T Lloyd's premises, (printer, stationer and publisher of many of these images as postcards) can be seen in the centre of the photograph.

E. C. Burns.

[Light-hearted group portrait]

Four soldiers and three civilians. One soldier wears a Welsh lady's hat, another has a garland around his cap. One soldier wears the Queen's South Africa Medal with three clasps and a Royal Field Artillery (or RGA) cap badge. Two of the civilians wear flowers in their button holes.

D C Harries, Rhosmaen Street, Llandilo.

[Sergeant in the Pembroke Yeomanry with three Territorial Force Proficiency Stars]

A Sergeant in the Pembroke Yeomanry photographed outside the entrance to a bell tent. On his right sleeve he wears three Territorial Force proficiency stars and a marksman skill at arms badge. The three proficiency stars imply twelve years service in the TF. Along with chainmail shoulder boards he also wears a medal on his chest, but the photograph is taken at such an angle as to prevent identification.
