Statement containing a series of claims of proof of fraud by the overman John Thomas at the colliery. Also hearsay accounts that Mrs Lloyd had murdered her husband William Williams due to his imminent recognition of an illegitimate child.

Letter concerning his statement. Writing from abroad, having fled the law, he recounts the interview with Morgan Stuart Williams and Mr Lloyd in the library at Aberpergwm. A victim of gambling, he denies attempting blackmail and praises Morgan Stuart Williams's kindness. His innocent wife is living with her mother at the Gough Arms, Ystradgynlais.
