Literary and broadcasting papers,

The group comprises mainly drafts, proofs, notes, printed sources and letters relevant to the preparation and publication of Hubbard's own books and his articles for magazines and newspapers, 1862-1980, similar papers linked with his editorship of the works of other authors, 1891-1976, radio and television scripts with related papers, 1949-1958, and royalty statements, accounts, bills and receipts resulting from his professional work, 1948-1969. There are also six boxes of card indexes, compiled during Hubbard’s working life [approx. 1933-1988].

Papers relevant to the publication of The Welsh Terrier Handbook, 1959, including press cuttings, 1896, 1931-1946 and letters, 1946-1947, which appear to have come originally from Arthur Croxton ('Crokkie') Smith.

Radio scripts written for programmes such as West of the Dyke, Today, Woman's Hour, Farm Fare, News From Wales and In Town Tonight on the subjects of dog shows, literature, canine behaviour, Welsh dogs and Hubbard's pet dingo, with relevant letters and notes.

Card indexes,

The series comprises six boxes of card indexes used by Hubbard in the course of his research and writing career, listing British authors A-G, H-R, S-Z and misc., and foreign authors, A-G, H-O, P-Z, each also incorporating some subject headings in the same rough alphabetical sequence.

Canine research papers,

The group comprises research notes and source materials, [post-1786]-1995, kennel and stud books, 1846-1961, newspaper and magazine articles, 1816-1993, pamphlets and circulars, 1901-1997, accumulated by Hubbard as an author and editor of canine literature. Additional material includes obituaries and tributes to Doggie Hubbard, 2000 and 2003.
