Manuscripts and printed works, 1818-1895, of Lady Charlotte Guest (née Bertie, other married name Schreiber), comprising journals, 1824-1891 (with gaps); papers relating to the iron and coal industries at Dowlais, 1818-1853; and copies of her printed books, 1888-1895.

At least 7 ff. (covering late September 1832-May 1833) have been removed by Lady Charlotte herself (see R. Guest & A. John, Lady Charlotte (1989), p. 18).

Journal, 29 March 1841-23 June 1844, of Lady Charlotte Guest, at Dowlais, London and Sully, with tours in Belgium and Germany.
Papers loose inside the volume include engraved views of Wesel, [Germany]; a poster, 1830, relating to the 'Swing riots' in Northamptonshire, sent to her stepfather, Rev. Peter W. Pegus; and notes and rough sketches of architectural details, a hand mangle and a domestic iron (10 ff.).

Various papers found loose in MS XXIII and now filed separately. They include a note in French, 1876, on Wedgewood items; letters, 1876, from Lady Charlotte's daughter, Blanche, and her husband, Edward Ponsonby, later Lord Bessborough; addresses and business cards of various dealers; bills and draft accounts of purchases; photograph of a vase, and of A. Cerutti; two letters, 1876, on financial matters; and a letter of introduction in French, 1876, from W. H. Waddington to Edgar Waddington, Paris.
