Accounts for land revenues of South Wales 1736-1758

Seven vellum documents, 1736-1758, comprising accounts for land revenues to Sir Henry Fox, Lord Holland and Richard Bateman, Receivers General of the King’s Revenues in South Wales. Each multi-page document lists the annual land revenues from the counties of Pembroke, Carmarthen, Cardigan, Brecon, Radnor, Glamorgan and Monmouth in South Wales. Signed by Lt Gen. Thomas Farrington MP of Chislehurst, Auditor of the Land Revenues for Wales, 1739-1750, and subsequently Thomas Wynn, 1761. Declared before successive Chancellors of the Exchequer, Robert Walpole, Henry Pelham and William Barrington.

Articles of agreement William Knox of Slebech

Articles of agreement (copy) between William Knox (Slebech), John Simpson and John Tunno, September 1785, for the purchase of one hundred negroes, mulattoes or other slaves at a price of £54 10s, sometime since in the State of Georgia, but lately removed to the Island of Jamaica, to be delivered to the agents of the purchasers in Charles Town, South Carolina by 1 May 1786.

Deeds of the Probyn family

Deeds relating to lands in south Wales belonging to members of the Probyn family of Newland, Gloucestershire, including Sir Edmund Probyn, his nephew John Hopkins, son of his sister Sarah, who was E.P.’s heir and took the name Probyn after his uncle’s death, and Edward Probyn the younger, 1719-1785.
