Papers, [18 cent.]-1936, of Charles Watkin Williams-Wynn, which include pedigrees, [18 cent.], of the Lloyd family of Blaen-y-ddol and Llwyn-y-maen, Oswestry and papers, 1719, relating to the erection of monuments to members of the Wynn family in Ruabon church; correspondence, 1797-1840 and n.d., of the Wynn family, including sixteen letter-books, 1807-1831, kept by Charles Watkin Williams-Wynn; transcripts of correspondence, 1803, between the Chancellor of the Exchequer Henry Addington and George, Prince of Wales (afterwards George IV) and between George and his father, George III; and a typescript copy, 1936, of a memoir of Charles Watkin Williams-Wynn compiled by his grandson, Arthur Watkin Williams Wynn.

A typescript list (71 pp., 1303 items) of letters and documents included in the Robert Owen Correspondence in the possession of the Co-operative Union Limited, Holyoake House, Hanover Street, Manchester.

Manuscripts and papers, [1601x1936], relating to the literary activities of David Jones (Dewi Fardd) and particularly to his printing business at Trefriw. The collection includes personal and business correspondence of family members of David Jones, and papers of Gwilym Cowlyd, Ieuan Glan Geirionydd, Gwilym Hiraethog and other literary figures.

A manuscript presented by His Majesty the late King George VI as a memento of the Royal Visit of 15 July 1937. It is entitled 'The Princes of Wales of the Blood Royal of England With Their Armorial Ensigns deduced from MCCLXXXIV to His Royal Highness George-Augustus Frederick Prince of Wales Regent of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland MDCCCXI'. The volume is the work of Sir George Nayler, York Herald and Genealogist of the Bath, who subsequently became Clarenceux king-of-arms and Garter king-of-arms. It is very finely executed on vellum, and consists of brief biographical sketches of sixteen Princes of Wales, beginning with Edward of Caernarvon (afterwards Edward II) and ending with George-Augustus Frederick (afterwards George IV). On the leaf following each sketch is the coat of arms, emblazoned in tinctures, of the Prince of Wales to whom the preceding text relates. On the leaves immediately following the coat of arms of Edward, the Black Prince, are illuminated drawings of his tomb in Canterbury Cathedral and of the Prince of Wales's crest, - three ostrich feathers with the motto 'Ich Dien'. Edward, the son of Henry VIII, who afterwards became Edward VI, has been omitted from the series, and a sheet of paper of later date than the manuscript, on which biographical data relating to him have been written, is loose in the volume. It is decorated on the upper cover with a shield inlaid in black on which are superimposed the Prince of Wales's feathers inlaid on white and outlined and feathered in gold, and which is surrounded by a design, in blind and gold, copied from that on the tomb of the Black Prince in Canterbury Cathedral. The same design, without the shield and feathers, is repeated on the lower cover. On the spine, in gold, are one-line panels and the following lettering - 'The Princes of Wales. Nayler . . . 1811', while the inside borders are also of one-line gilt panels. His Majesty the King has autographed the volume on the first fly-leaf - 'George R. I. July 15th. 1937'.

The collection known as the Archdeacon A. O. Evans Manuscripts is a group of manuscripts given to the National Library by Albert Owen Evans. They include correspondence and papers relating to A. O. Evans.

Manuscripts, [1790x1937], by or belonging to, the Reverend David Morgan Lewis. The material is largely of Congregational or Welsh literary/historical interest and includes sermons and sermon notes; volumes of hymn-tunes and material relating to Welsh hymn-writers (including Ann Griffiths) and their work; lecture notes and essays; tour journals, [1889]-1906, of David Morgan Lewis; and an album mainly of Congregational interest compiled by John Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro').

Twenty six letters, 1922-1937, from D. J. Williams, Fishguard, to Flora Forster. They relate mainly to their personal relationship, but also contain references to his imprisonment, 1937 (ff. 48-9), George M. Ll. Davies (ff. 29 verso-30, 41), the 1922 parliamentary election (ff. 1-3), Saunders Lewis (f. 14 verso), and Welsh nationalism (ff. 45-8).

A photostat facsimile, dated 16 July 1937, of an incomplete manuscript, [14 cent., second ½]-[15 cent., first ¼], of the Laws of Hywel Dda in the Dimetian Code, then belonging to the Massachusetts Historical Society (MS 5).

A group of letters largely relating to Harry H. Davis of Pennsylvania, Consul of the United States of America at Cardiff, which include certificates and other material relating to Davis's diplomatic career. There is also some material relating to Ephraim Henry Davies of Barry, including a holograph letter, 1933, from J. Dyfnallt Owen.
Amongst the references made are those to President Ulysses S. Grant; Lady Schreiber (formerly Lady Charlotte Guest); and Augusta Hall, Lady Llanover.

An uncorrected, bound, proof copy, [?April 1937] of David Jones, In Parenthesis: Seinnyessit e gledyf ym penn mameu (London: Faber & Faber Ltd, 1937).
The proof is effectively identical to the three sets used to produce the corrected proofs now NLW, David Jones (Artist and Writer) Papers LP4/4-6, dated 7-17 April 1937; parts of the subsequent revise (ibid, LP4/8-9) were passed for press. In Parenthesis was published in June 1937, corresponding to the date inscribed on the front cover.

Manuscripts, 1707-[1937], from the library of Richard Bennett of Llanbrynmair and Caersws, Montgomeryshire, much of which is in the hand of Richard Bennett himself. The collection comprises material largely of Montgomeryshire interest and includes parochial records, transcripts from parish registers, extracts from probate records (some of Merionethshire interest) and genealogical records, and extracts from printed works relating to Montgomeryshire.

A collection, [1896x1937], comprising note-books, correspondence, miscellaneous papers, etc., from the library of the Rev. Professor William Porter and including essays, examination papers and research and lecture notes. Much of the material relates to Biblical themes and to the study of the Hebrew and Greek languages.

An incomplete manuscript draft, [1938], by the Rev. John Jenkins, Vicar of Llanarthney, Carmarthenshire (1908-1934), of his book Llanarthney: The Parish, its People and Places (Carmarthen, 1939).
The manuscript consists of drafts of the Introduction and Chapters I-V (ff. 1-17), Chapter VIII (ff. 17-21) and the beginning of Chapter IX (f. 21), mainly concerning the Parish Church, the village and Sir William Paxton. The text is written on the rectos with corrections and additions supplied on those pages or on the versos opposite.

Notebook of Henry Harris, Ystrad Rhondda, begun in 1921, containing lists of place-names and field names in the Rhondda. Some of the names are taken from a tithe map of 1847 (ff. i, 1-51).
Also included is a typescript list of the same place-names, on loose sheets, the names numbered and in alphabetical order (ff. 52-98); typescript and manuscript notes, [?1938], on the Rhondda in the year 1737, including transcripts of Overseers of the Poor accounts (ff. 103-109); notes, 1938, relating to bird life in the Rhondda (f. 110); and three letters to Harris, October 1921-May 1928, including two from M. H. Jones, Penllwyn (ff. 99-102).

Stanley Davies, consisting mainly of correspondence addressed to Abraham Howell, solicitor, of Welshpool, by members of his family, including his cousin Samuel Roberts (S.R.); together with other correspondence and papers of the Howell family, and letters addressed to Arthur Stanley Davies. The majority of the material is of Montgomeryshire interest.
