MS 23052D includes a letter from J. Gwili Jenkins, one of the adjudicators (f. 1) and the winning pryddest by Simon B. Jones (ff. 2-12); MS 23053D includes letters from the three adjudicators, T. Some fifty letters and cards, 1903-1931, to Margaret Sampson (née Sprunt), wife of Dr John Sampson (1862-1931), Librarian of the University of Liverpool, from Augustus John, 1903-1931 (ff. 1-25 verso), his first wife Ida John (née Nettleship), 1903-1906 (ff. 30-85), and his sister Gwen John, 1911-1913 (ff. 26-29). The letters contain mainly family and personal news.

An autobiographical work entitled 'Quick March', written [in 1931] by Helen Thomas, and bearing corrections and paragraph marks, evidently in preparation for publication. The work appeared untitled as the seventeenth and final chapter of her second memoir, World Without End (London: Heinemann, 1931), pp. 181-194. This manuscript was claimed by the seller to have been owned by Vita Sackville-West, who reviewed World Without End (see Helen Thomas, Time & Again: Memoirs and Letters, ed. by Myfanwy Thomas (Manchester, 1978), p. 130).

A diary, 1930, kept by Mary Grierson whilst at school in Bangor, North Wales, in which she recounts her exploits in the Snowdon area with three school friends, Brenda Chamberlain, the artist, Jean Jones, daughter of E. H. Jones (Registrar of University College of North Wales, Bangor) and Joy Witton-Davies, daughter of Professor T. Witton-Davies, of the University College of North Wales, Bangor. Encolosed is a poem written to 'Blackie' (Mary Grierson) by Jean Jones, 1927. Mary Grierson later became a botanical artist at Kew Gardens.
