Inside the front cover are the words 'Darling Joan', apparently in David Jones's hand (see also p. xv). Items found loose in this volume include a draft letter from DJ to 'Dick', 14 Oct 1936, concerning the printing of In Parenthesis; typescript lists of corrigenda; a letter from Colin [Hughes] to René Hague, 11 Oct 1976; and photostat copies of maps of the Mametz Wood area, with the location of incidents in part 7 of In Parenthesis noted, of the area surrounding that shown on the map facing p. 193 of In Parenthesis and of 'The London of the Lady of the Pool' (17 pages and a pressed flower).

Items found loose inside the volume include a letter from Peter Levi to René Hague, n.d.; a xerox copy of a literary draft in David Jones's hand; a draft in David Jones's hand of part of the text on p 243 of The Anathemata; and a postcard from Walter [Shewring], 23 May [ ] (13 pages and an envelope).
