The writing is faint, and the cover is illegible, with the exception of 'Manor of [?Colwinston]' and a later endorsement of '1634'. The manor is not named in the presentment, but there is reference to Brocastle Farm (320 a.), to pleadings 'in the court of the said manor or in Ogmore Court', to a common (80 a.) called 'the Golden M[ile?]', and to Morgan Morgan, clerk, the present incumbent, presented by Sir Edward Mansell, bart, and John Carne, esq., in right of their wives, the undoubted patrons 'unless the Lady of the said Manor Dame Lady Martha Bassette the relict of Edward Carne Esq late Lord of the said Manor hath right ...'.
