Rentals

The series comprises an incomplete run of twice-yearly rental accounts, Lady Day and Michaelmas. The 1850 rental relates only to the Van estate in the parish of Llangyndeyrn. The 1860-1867 rentals relate to the Van estate and to the Alltcynadda estate in the parish of Kidwelly. There is also a rental account for lots 5 (Felindre), 6 (Pantllin), 7 (Lime Rocks), 14 (Tymelin and Danypond), 17 (Rhydhowell) and 18 (Tyrberllan) of the Frood estate, purchased by E. C. L. Fitzwilliams, March 1863-Sept. 1867. The Pantllin estate in the parish of Llangyndeyrn, comprising at least some of these Frood estate purchases, appears in the main series of rentals from Lady Day 1868. Most rentals enclose accounts of the rent collections, held at Llandysul, Llangeler, Cilgwyn and Van, and banking accounts. Most of the 1912-1923 rentals are settled accounts, signed by either or both the estate owner and the estate steward.
