W(illiam) C(rawshay), London, to Jos(ep)h Kaye,

Concerning a paper requiring his signature of consent to the transfer of the impounded Chancery moneys to Mr Hall. The writer, to whom the moneys will come ultimately, requires them immediately to pay Bacon in the form of Stock, etc., purchased on his behalf; he does not see why there should be transfer to Hall, or any other delays and he therefore requires recipient's advice.

W(illiam) C(rawshay), London, to Antho(ny) Bacon,

Concerning purchase of Exchequer Bills instead of Consols for recipient "towards the sum I have to pay you for Cyfarthfa"; Concerning also the transfer to recipient of the Copyhold Property (at Blackfriars Bridge).

W(illiam) C(rawshay), London, to William Crawshay, Jr,

Instructions as to forwarding of Bills for discounting; as to making bars for April and May; and as to stopping the Romney Metal at the end of June and clearing up the Romney Debt, the Canal Debt and other arrears in the meantime. Concerning Hall's character and his attempt to secure the impounded Chancery Moneys' with which the writer dare not trust him, and which by agreement were to be transferred to Bacon in part payment for the Cyfarthfa interests. If Hall will sell out for £50,000 the writer will not wait an hour to call it a bargain.

W(illiam) C(rawshay), London, to Antho(ny) Bacon,

Notes recipient's acceptance of the proposed tranference to him of the impounded Chancery moneys in part payment of the Cyfarthfa share of the purchase; sends account of £8000 Exchequer Bills bought for recipient.

W(illiam) C(rawshay), London, to George Chilton,

Informs recipient that all parties have now agreed that the moneys impounded in Chancery should be transferred to Bacon, and instructs him accordingly. Matters connected with payment of Bacon.

Instructions as to Bills, and an account of his own methods of "raising the wind" to pay Bacon without having to sell stock at the prevailing low price. The firing of the "Twin Lights" (furnaces) at "Innisvach".

W(illiam) C(rawshay), London, to Anthony Bacon,

Advises recipient of the purchase on his behalf of £7000 Exchequer Bills and £7000 Consols, and offers him also £10,000 East India Company's Bills, in each case as contribution towards the payment for Cyfarthfa.

W(illiam) C(rawshay), London, to Anthony Bacon,

Concerning the writers intention to buy £10,000 more Consols for the recipients since they have fallen in price; an enquiry whether the Exchequer Bills should be sold and Consols bought with the money. In postscript, news that Consols have risen again.

W(illiam) C(rawshay), London, to William Crawshay, Jr,

Further instructions as to Bills, and a suggestion that recipient might, with Richard Moser as partner and manager, acquire Taitt's Mill at Cardiff; to which end enquiries should be made to discover full particulars of the mill and the reason for its disuse.

W(illiam) C(rawshay), London, to Sam(ue)l Homfray,

Business and health reasons prevent his attendance at the meeting to discuss the tonnage charged on the River Thames, but he hopes the gentlemen at the meeting will see the propriety of a reduction to enable the South Wales makers to bring their iron to market as well and extensively as the Staffordshire Works.

W(illiam) C(rawshay), London, to Antho(ny) Bacon,

Advises recipient of the purchase for him of £6,000 worth of "3% Reduced" (Consols?), and of the probable purchase of more. Concerning the Bankside Estate (i.e. Blackfriars Bridge Property) and the impounded moneys.
