The valuable MSS in the addressee's possession - mention of the writer's limited stay with him yesterday and a request to him to find an elegy giving the death of John Gamage's father, Robert Gamage, probably about 1550 or 1560. Reference to the writer's determination to attend the Cardiff Eisteddfod in Sept. 1834 if possible. A query from Mr Price.

Sending a copy of the pedigree of the family of Lewis of the Van from Enderbie's British & Welsh History, 1661. A request to the addressee. Wishing to know if it is his intention to publish those MSS of David Benwyn which the writer had a sight of when once he had the pleasure of calling at the addressee's house. He has the addressee's prize poem at the Eisteddfod and hopes shortly to be able to read it in the original, as he has set to learning the Welsh. How this came about. Enclosure.

He proposes remaining at this place (where he is in lodgings at the house of Mr Morris the land surveyor) till June 6, when he will return to Cheltenham. Any further information (concerning the brothers and sisters of John Gamage, dec. 1584) will be very gratefully received. Enclosure.

Shadrack] or The Backslider's Mirror, and he would like to obtain the addressee's opinion as to the manner in which he has executed the task. If it should still be wished he will do his best, as he promised, to spend a Sunday at Merthyr during his vacation, but his newly-formed plan of going to York makes him more doubtful of the practicability of it.

His epitaph shall be in the Silurian next week in English, but it ought to be like himself Welsh. That the writer will get done - apologising that he must have help.
