The improvement scheme at Penmaenbach and Penyclip presents a number of engineering difficulties, and further deliberations are necessary on the precise scope and ultimate form of the works. A letter has recently been sent by Mr Herbert Morrison to the Caernarvonshire County Council confirming the terms of the contribution from the Road Fund, and work should commence shortly. It is not true that grants are being withheld because the money is required for other purposes.

T. E. Nicholas, Glasynys, Aberystwyth. Considers it a tragedy that a non-Welsh speaker has been appointed in charge of the Welsh Department at the National Museum of Wales. Believes that the two posts should be split, and that Iorwerth C. Peate, who has quite exceptional qualifications, should be appointed Head of the Welsh Department. Hopes that Huw T. Edwards will be able to attend the next meeting at Bangor, and that he will make his voice heard. He would welcome a conversation with Huw T. Edwards. Welsh.
