Correspondence, &c., of John Jones, Junior, and others,

Holograph letters, etc., of the family of John Jones, Junior, of Wrexham, etc. The writers include Humphrey Jones to his [step-]daughter Mary Jones, Bryn y ffynnon house in Wrexham, 1684-1686 (3), and to John Jones, 1685-1686/7 (2) (the management of the writer's affairs in Merioneth, etc.; money matters, the execution of Alderman [Henry] Cornish and others, the hearing of the writer's case before the Lord Chancellor, a purchaser for Penamnen); Jo. Jones, Wrexham, to Humphrey Jones, Aldermanbury, 1685 (the Penamnen tenants, claims upon estate owners in the lordship of Mr. Pugh of Mathavern, etc.); John Lloyd, Wrexham, to John Jones, Cheapside, London, 1689/90 (the plight of the widow of the heir of Collonell Michael Jones); and Ann Leven to her uncle John Jones, undated (personal, news of uncle Payne). Also bound in the volume is a true copy, in the hand of Humphrey Jones, of a rental and particulars of arrears sent by Mr. [Charles] Price, 1689.

Theological notes,

An incomplete volume containing extracts from the Scriptures and from early Christian writers, and notes on theological and religious subjects. Also included in the volume (ff. 253-254) are accounts of disbursements on behalf of Mr. Trevor, 1718.

Correspondence, &c., of Ann Edwards, Cilhendre,

Holograph letters addressed to, and papers of, Ann Edwards [the elder] of Cilhendre. The writers include Griffith Kyffin, 1704 (the gift of beef, personal); Ja. Bridgeman, Blod[well], 1718 (the exchange of books, the wedding of Sr. Charles Lloyd); cousin E. Morrall, 1719/20 (Mr. Trevor's case before the House of Lords); Eliz. Markham, 1730 (a bond and a loan); niece Kath. William[s], Chester, undated (2) (personal); niece V. Mathewes, Blodwell, undated (the return of the writer's cousin); daughter F[rances] E[dwards], undated (cousin John's visit to Glascoyd, godmother to cousin Richard Kyffin's daughter); etc. The miscellaneous papers include a note by Edward Podmore for sums of money received from Madam Edwards's servant; a memorandum of account between Edward Morrall and Ann Edwards, 1730 (see also NLW MS 11452C); receipts, 1752-1753, for legacies bequeathed by Mrs. Frances Edwards; etc.

A speech and news letter,

A contemporary copy [c. December, 1718] of 'The Genuine Speech of the Ld. L--ne [George Granville, baron Lansdowne] against repealing the Occasional and Schism Bills' (8 pp.); and a news letter, 6 June, 1719, containing an account of Mr. [Gilbert] Burnet, incumbent of East Barnet, the imprisonment of the late Earl of Mar [John Erskine, 6th or 11th earl] at Geneva, twelve porpoises at Greenwich, and the case of the heir of Sir John Trevor, Master of the Rolls (mutilated).

Travel journal,

An account of travels in France by Thomas Hanmer [of Fenns Hall], c. 1728, together with some draft and holograph letters, miscellaneous notes, etc., 1725/6-1731 and undated. The correspondents include M. Bernége, Turin, Jean Escher, Zurich, T[homas] Stephens, C[orpus] C[hristi] C[ollege], C[ambridge], and A. Bosatty, Bologna.
