Correspondence (copies and originals, to and from J.H.L.) press cuttings, notes for speeches, election addresses and extracts from Hansard, January 1916 - December 1923, relating mainly to the work of J.H.L. as Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education and, in particular, to the passage and implementation of Fisher's Education Act of 1918 and of the Teachers' Superannuation Act. The correspondents include Rt. Hon. H.A.L. Fisher, M.P., President of the Board of Education (8/18, 23-5, 27, 30); Rt. Hon. W.H. Fisher, M.P. (8/6); Rt. Hon. Arthur Henderson, M.P., President of the Board of Education (8/2); J.H.L. (8/3, 9, 21-2, 26, 29); Principal T.F.Roberts (8/10); and Rt. Hon. Edward Wood, M.P., President of the Board of Education (8/28). The letters from J.H.L. are copies addressed to D. Lloyd George, Government Ministers and his daughter Kitty, later Mrs. K. Idwal Jones.

Sir Alfred T. Davies. Twelve letters, 1904, 1911 and 1922-24, to and from Sir A.T.D. 10/3-9 and 11-12 are xerox copies of correspondence in the Sir A.T.D. papers at Wilton, Connecticut, U.S.A., and relate to his work as Permanent Secretary to the Welsh Department of the Board of Education. They consist of exchanges between Sir A.T.D. and Rt. Hon. Edward Wood, M.P., President of the Board of Education. 10/1 is a holograph letter from D. Lloyd George to A.T.D. dated 15 June 1904, 10/2 is an autograph letter from A.T.D. to Joseph Parry, 5 May 1911, and 10/10 is a transcript by L.W.E. of a letter from A.T.D. to his wife, Mary, 23 January 1907.

O. M. Edwards. Thirteen letters, some originals and some copies, February 1907 - April 1911, from O.M.E. to Rt. Hon. Reginald McKenna, M.P., Secretary of State for Home Affairs (7/1-3); Rt. Hon. J. Herbert Lewis, M.P., (7/4-11, 13); and H.G. Maurice (7/12). The letters discuss the writer's work as the first chief inspector of schools under the new Welsh Education Department, his policies and his attitudes towards educational provision. They include some comments on Welsh political life.
