Family papers and estate records of the Evans and Davies-Evans families of Highmead, Cardiganshire. -- The estate records includes rentals and inventories of the estates of Highmead, 1800-1890, Penylan in the parish of Llanfynydd, Carmarthenshire, 1817-1850, Dolgadfan and Trefeglwys in Montgomeryshire, 1850-1859, and Pantglas in Carmarthenshire, 1879-1897, and of the estate of James Evan Bayly in the parish of Llanwenog, Cardigan, 1822-1840; account books of the Highmead estate, 1757-1899; records of various estates and farms in Carmarthenshire, and Breconshire; and deeds of estates in Breconshire, Cardiganshire, Carmarthenshire, Glamorgan, Pembrokeshire and Radnorshire, 1549-c. 1880. -- The family and personal papers include the diaries of Anne Evans, John Jones of Blaenos, the Rev. D. H. T. G. Williams, Herbert Davies-Evans, and his son H. The series comprises small notebooks which Condry carried with him, recording descriptions of places visited, observations on wildlife, particularly birds and plants, geology, industry, historical landmarks, archaeology, personal reminders, ideas for writing and lecturing, photography, bibliographies, useful contacts and conservation issues, 1952-1994. The main geographical areas covered are Bardsey Island, Cader Idris, Cardiganshire and Merionethshire. An index to the series is provided., compiled by Ceridwen Lloyd-Morgan, 2013.

A roughly-bound composite volume of notebooks in the hand of J. H. Davies containing extracts and transcripts from seventeenth and eighteenth century public records relating mainly to Cardiganshire and taken especially from Gaol Files, 1732-69 (among them 'Quotations sent to Welsh Gazette' with captions in the hand of George Eyre Evans); and copious extracts and transcripts of seventeenth century Welsh Puritan and Quaker interest, including material from Merioneth Gaol Files, temp. Charles II, notes and extracts on 'Personalia' (with similar material relating to Dafydd ap Gwilym etc.); an extensive list of titles of, with extracts from, printed books and Acts of Parliament, a list of Members of Parliament for Welsh constituencies, 1640-60 (Cardiganshire from 1624), transcripts from Thomas Shankland, '"Diwygwyr Cymru" Beriah Gwynfe Evans', Seren Gomer 1901, passim, etc. There is a classified index at the end of the volume.
