The group comprises a school roll, papers of clerkship, certificates of ordination and appointments of individuals from the Hughes family of Weeg, 1746, and the Griffith family of Garn, 1803-1834, 1915-1920.

The series comprises a notebook of Richard Heaton of the Middle Temple, dated 1764, containing rules and orders, entries and case studies in common law in the court of Great Sessions for the counties of Flint, Denbigh, Montgomery and Chester, and rules of the court of Chancery for the counties of Montgomery, Denbigh and Flint.

The file comprises deeds of a messuage in Gwaun Dwysog in the township of Twysog, which was sold by John Joyce, Thomas Lewis, John Owen of Mold and John Owen of Oswestry to Edward Corser, Clementina Radcliffe and Grace Wynne of Holywell in 1791. In the same year it was sold on to Edward Jones of Tythyn Issa, Henllan, with an assignment in trust by Samuel Small of a 1000 year term (existing as a result of a previous mortgage). John Wynne Griffith of Garn purchased the property in 1815, adding to the lands which his grandfather, John Griffith (2), had purchased in Gwaun Dwysog more than sixty years previously.
