An incomplete transcript of the first four books of John Fox: Acts and Monuments of the Church (The Book of Martyrs) edition not identified but probably one of the editions published in Black Letter (i.e. up to and including the 1641 edition). The transcript starts with the sixth persecution (reference to folio 85) and ends with the dissension between Pope Gregory and the citizens of Rome (reference to folio 363). The transcriber usually writes 'Reade the Booke' when he omits portions of the text, such as copies of documents, etc., and he refers to the works of John Whitgift and ?T[homas] C[artwright] in the margin in addition to the marginalia and sources copied from Fox's work.

A description (ff i-ii, 1-6) of the execution of Mary, Queen of Scots entitled 'The Arraignmt of the Queene of Scotts in Foderingham Castell in the County of Northampton the viiith of Februaru 1586'.

An annotated metrical manuscript (2940 lines) entitled 'The Aromatarians Journey into The West of England and Part of Wales by One of the Party. 1787'. Preceding the text is a Dedication 'To The no less Ancient and Venerable than Worshipful Mystery of The Grocery of London' by the Prime Warden, December 1787, and a Preface. The journey comprised Hounslow, Windsor, Bagshot, Frefolk [Freefolk], Andover, Ambresbury [Amesbury], Wilton, Sarum, Woodyeates, Winborn [Wimborne], Merley, Dorchester, Bridport, Axminster, Honiton, Exeter, Chudleigh, Ashburton, Modbury, Ugborough, Mount Edgecomb [Edgecumbe], Plymouth, Ivey-Bridge [Ivybridge], Totnes, Newton-Bushel, Exeter, Columpton [Cullompton], Taunton, Bridgwater, Glassenbury [Glastonbury], Wells, Bath, Bristol, Gloster [Gloucester], Chepstow, Tintern Abbey, Monmouth, Hereford, Ledbury, Colwall, Worcester, Droitwich, Stourport, Tenbury, Bucknel[l], Ludlow, Bishop's Castle, Montgomery, Forden, Newtown, Welsh-Pool [Welshpool], Powis Castle, Shrewsbury, Coalbroke Dale [Coalbrookdale], Broseleys Well, Bridgnorth, Wolverhampton, Soho, Birmingham, Stratford [upon Avon], Woodstock, Blenheim [Palace], Oxford, Henley and Windsor. Inset is a letter, 26 November 1929, from L. Hickman Barnes, Grocers' Hall, Princes Street, E.C.2 to Miss E. M. Williams [of the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth] informing the recipient that the Prime Warden of the Company in 1787 was Mr Henry Nettleship, who had been elected on 13 July, and that on that date the Court resolved 'that the Master, Wardens & 3 or 4 other Members of the Court be requested to visit the churches of Ugborough & Bucknell, which had been purchased in accordance with the Lady Slaney Trust, also Forden, & the School at Colwall'. The spine is lettered 'MS The Journey'.

A small notebook intended as a collecting book for a testimonial to the Reverend William Rees ('Gwilym Hiraethog'), Liverpool containing a printed letter relating to the testimonial inside the cover but no collection entries in the book, which was subsequently used for copying texts suitable for marriage services.

A mutilated volume containing texts on witchcraft entitled 'Hyfforddiad i alw rhyw ffath ar Ysprydion y rhai ai geilw nhw yn Dylwyth Teg', 'Y Ffordd ar modd I gael trysor cyddiedig a fyddo gwedi ei gadw oddiwrth Iws Dyn', and 'I alw neu gyfarch yr Yspryd Brett'; 'Scot's discovery of Witchcraft. A Charm against a shot, or a Waistcoat of proof'; and 'Conjuration. An inventory of the names, shapes, Powers, Gover[n]ments and affects, of devils and spirits, of their several signorus and Degrees'.

The majority of the prose texts were transcribed from manuscripts in the British Museum during the period 1859-60 and many of them were printed in Y Brython, 1859-60. A composite volume of the period c. 1869-70, almost entirely in the hand of W[illiam] H[enry] Mounsey and containing miscellaneous extracts and fragments of transcripts of literary and historical texts, with copious annotations by the scribe. Among the contents are a collation of the printed text of Y Marchog Crwydrad (Y Brython, 1862, pp. 1-17, 138-52, 257-67, 361-74) with the text of Llanstephan MS 178; 'Iolo Morganwg's opinion of Lewis Morris'; an Irish-English glossary (part of letter A, 4 pp.); 'Prophwydoliaeth y Ddau Fuddugoliaeth a gant Hwch y Maran', with an English translation; 'Stabat Mater', with an English translation; 'englynion', 'cywyddau', etc. from a variety of sources, such as 'Llyfr Hir' and 'Llyfr Du' and manuscripts of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') and David Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu Eryri'), 'Llythyr at Dafydd Jones [Trefriw]' from John Pywel, Rhyd Eirin, Llansannan, 1766; etc. The spine is lettered 'Welsh Miscellanea - W. A collection of press cuttings relating to T. E. Ellis and to Welsh politics, some of which are contributed by T. E. Ellis.

A volume entitled 'Telyn y Cyssegr. 1851', being a collection of hymns and religious poems, including translations, by D. Silvan Evans. Many of the compositions were published in D. Silvan Evans: Telyn Dyfi (Aberystwyth, 1898).

An exercise book in the hand of J. H. Davies containing a list of sixty Welsh books, 1786-1902 and undated, in the possession of Evan Jones ('Wrtydyn') [of Llanwrtyd] and transcripts, with some annotations, of titles of Welsh elegies, mainly of Welsh Baptist interest, 1784-1832 and undated.

Two notebooks containing transcripts of titles of Welsh ballads ('Hen Faledau Cymraeg') contained in Books I - IV of 'Llyfrau Cerddi' in the collection of W. J. Roberts ('Gwilym Cowlyd'), 1896. There are some annotations, partly in the hand of J. H. Davies, and in the majority of cases the corresponding numbers in J. H. Davies: A Bibliography of Welsh Ballads ... (London, 1911) have been inserted.

A small notebook probably in the autograph of the Reverend Hugh Pugh (1803-68), Mostyn inscribed '"Tarian Rhyddyd" &c. Novr. 1838' and containing minutes, November 1838 - July 1839, and a list of co-proprietors in connection with Tarian Rhyddid, a Dymchwelydd Gormes, a monthly publication, the first number of which appeared in January 1839. The 'Reverend H. Pugh' is named as secretary and the Reverend W[illia]m Rees as editor. At the reverse end of the volume are some sermon notes.

A volume containing a late nineteenth or early twentieth century transcript of the Taicroesion Pedigrees, described on the title page as 'A most valuable copy transcribed by a Solicitor and examined and compared with the original, so it is the most reliable copy extant'. There are, however, some errors of transcription and some additions. There is a table of contents at the beginning and the pedigrees are followed by a list of the names of the high sheriffs for Caernarvonshire, 1540-1796, written in a different hand.

A volume containing nineteen Sunday lectures for children, of which seventeen were originally delivered between 27 March 1842 and 10 July 1843 and seven repeated during January and May 1855; together with a few notes on the structure and the furniture of 'The Tabernacle'.
