Llanfair and Brynodol Estate Records,
Family and estate records of Griffith of Porthamal, Anglesey, and Llanfair, Caernarfonshire, Griffith of Brynodol, Caernarfonshire, and the associated families of Rowlands of Nant, Caernarfonshire, and Wynn of Taltreuddyn, Merionethshire. The estate records include rentals of the Llanfair estate, 1516-1669, the Brynodol estate, 1581-1751, the Cefnamwlch estate, 1630-1717, the Nant estate, 1702-1719, the Taltreuddyn estate, 1744-1848, the Llanfair and Brynodol estate, 1761-1832, and rentals from various other estates, 1615-1816; and deeds of the Porthamal and Llanfair estate, 1435-1673, the Brynodol (and later Llanfair and Brynodol) estate, 1564-1864, and the Taltreuddyn estate, 1664-1751. -- The archive also includes rentals of Crown rents in Anglesey, Caernarfonshire, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Merionethshire, 1558-1798, and ministers' accounts, 1365-1825; Caernarfon borough records, 1545-1783, including rentals of corporation property, lists of burgesses, and notes on the constitution of the borough and the appointment of officers; and a number of literary and historical manuscripts.

Will (copy) of Ellen Owen of Porkington, co. Salop., spinster Testatrix devises:. The capital m. called Ustimkegid and other messuages, mills and lands in co. Caern., late the lands of Owen Wynne of Glynn, esq., deceased, in the possession of the testatrix by virtue of a mortgage from her brother, Sir Robert Owen late of Porkington and Dame Margaret, his wife, to Humphrey [Humphreys], bishop of Bangor and the testatrix's sister, Jane Oven, in trust to pay her funeral expenses and debts, to pay to Jane Owen £40 a year, and to the testatrix's sister Frances Rowlands £30 a year, with £30 for one year each to Frances Rowlands's daughters after her decease, to reserve £30 to erect a monument over the grave of the testatrix's grandfather Sir John Owen of Clenenney and Dame Jonet his wife in p. Penmorva, co. Caern., and to distribute the residue among the children of her brother Sir Thomas Owen for their lives, with the remainder to her brother's heir. Various legacies in money and in kind to relatives and servants. The residue to her sister Jane Owen. Testatrix nominates her sister Jane Owen hex executrix. Endorsed: 'Perused 19 May 1737 material papers'.
Probate Of The Will proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, of Elizabeth verch Robert of p. Edern, co. Caern., Testator devises to be buried in p. Edern to the church of Edern, 12d.,. To her daughters Jonett verch Richard and Agnes verch Richard and her s., David ap Richard 10s. each List of debts due to the testatrix. Testatrix appoints her s., Griffith ap Richard her executor Will dated 10 Jan., 1650/51. Seal.
