Whaite's, Bridge St.

The file comprises papers relating to Whaite's Fine Art Gallery, Bridge St., Manchester, including exhibition catalogues 1873, 1879, with exhibition circulars, 1873-1878, a booklet entitled 'Christmas and its Customs', published at Whaite's German Fair, together with an information leaflet regarding the German Fair, and photocopies of silhouettes, [1820s-1840s]. The file also includes a press cutting, 1907, relating to the German Fair.

The series consists of the weekly rent statements kept by accountants on properties owned by H. Clarence Whaite, due to him each quarter for the years 1870-1878, 1887-1892, and 1907-1909.

The file comprises a small amount of papers relating to the album presented to the Queen on the occasion of the jubilee year of her reign, 1886-1887, together with a draft of an address to her on the occasion of her diamond jubilee, 1897.
