A volume containing copies in the autograph of Owen Jones ('Manoethwy') of twenty letters, 1824-35, from John Blackwell ['Alun'], writing from Mold, Oxford, Berriew, Kerry, Holywell and Cardigan, chiefly to [the Reverend Thomas] Richards, Berriew and Llangynyw, and, to a lesser extent, to John Hamer, the Reverend Lewis Richards, Berriew, the Reverend E. Davies, Llan merewig and the Reverend Thomas Richards, Darowen. Two of the letters written from Oxford to the Reverend Lewis Richards contain letters also from John Antes La Trobe and J. Hamer in the one instance and J. Hamer in the other. Other items include a copy of a list of subscribers towards the education of John Blackwell of Mold, 1824, and copies of two other letters -, one, 1823, from R[ichard] Richards to his brother, [Thomas] Richards, Berriew, the other, 1827, from Evan Evans, ('Glan Geirionydd'), Christleton to Mr Richards, Llangynyw [i.e. Thomas Richards]. Some of the letters and the list of subscribers have been printed in Adgof Uwch Anghof. Some of the original letters are in Cwrtmawr MSS 74 and 872 and the list of subscribers is in Cwrtmawr MS 869.

A volume originally intended as a personal and farming account book, 1830 and undated, but consisting almost entirely of transcripts, largely by Mary Richards, Darowen, of material of family and local interest. A manuscript consisting largely of transcripts and memoranda by Mary Richards and Thomas Richards of Darowen. The volume appears originally to have been used as an account book of receipts and disbursements in respect of the farms of Llwyn, Cafnmaelen and Byrthlwydd [parish of Dolgellau, Merioneth], 1799-1802, and also to record biographies of [James Crichton, 'The Admirable'], Sir Francis Walsingham, Sir Francis Drake and William Cecil, Lord Burghley. Eighteen holograph letters from Thomas Glynne Jones from Mostyn [co. Flint ], to Thomas Jones (in sixteen instances identified as the writer's nephew) in Chester, 1843-1859 (personal and family affairs, the writer's ? drapery and grocery business, his loss of custom owing to the operation of the ' truck system' (1843), his difficulty in obtaining payment for goods from workers in the area, including Mr. Mostyn's estate and colliery workers, owing to the fact that they were not receiving their wages regularly, comments and suggestions with regard to recipient's inclination to take Anglican orders, mention of help given by the writer and Mr. Richards to John Blackwell ['Alun'] to enable him to enter Jesus College, Oxford, a note on Blackwell's career, mention of [the Reverend Richard] Briscoe, vicar [of Whitford, co. Flint, 1839-1865], and his Pusseyite tendencies, the setting up of a Sunday school and meetings [by the Calvinistic Methodists] at Ffynon Groyw, two miles from Mostyn, in 1848, and subsequent efforts by the writer to collect funds for the purchase of land and the erection of a chapel, schoolhouse, etc., there, an exhortation to recipient to practise family worship in his home).

Unbound papers containing the resolutions of the committee of the Cymmrodorion Society in Powys, held at Meifod, 17 May 1820, and a prospectus of the eisteddfod, under the patronage of the Society, to be held at Wrexham, 13-14 September 1820 (with an earlier draft which gives the date of the eisteddfod as 2-3 August 1820); a report (2 versions) of the proceedings of the eisteddfod held at Brecon, 25-26 September 1822, under the patronage of the Cambrian Society of Gwent ('y Gymdeithas Gymroaidd yn Ngwent'); adjudications on literary compositions (essays and poetry) submitted to the Powys eisteddfod held at Welshpool, 7-9 September 1824; a translation (draft) into Welsh of a circular sent out by the Society for the Abolition of Slavery, 1824, suggesting a pattern for petitions to Parliament relating to the abolition of slavery in the British colonies; a list of subscribers towards the education of John Blackwell of Mold, Flintshire, 1824; a letter (draft), c. 1822, addressed to 'Mr Gomer' (the discussion relating to Welsh poetry published in Seren Gomer, etc.).
