Extracts and translations from English, French, German, and Italian prose and verse, made by Maria Elizabeth Thomas during her travels in France, Belgium and Italy, 1819-1825, with an index (ff. 138-47 verso) and two untitled rough pencil sketches (ff. 150-1).

Two volumes bound in parchment containing a detailed journal by David Pennant, Downing of a tour of France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. The recorded tour began at Dover on 5 July 1819 and ended at Brussels on 16 June 1820. At the end of each volume are daily weather observations and other memoranda.

Six letters, 1844-1876, from the artist Penry Williams to the sculptor William Theed, the painter Edward William Cooke, and an unnamed correspondent. The subjects include a proposed visit to Wales by Williams, his travels in Italy with the sculptor John Gibson, the latter's failing health and his death at Rome, with reference to various English artists in Italy and to works by Gibson, Theed and Williams.

Journal of a tour in Switzerland and Italy, 1863, by the Reverend Alleyne Higgs Barker (ca. 1805-1884), grandson of the Reverend William Higgs Barker, and vicar of Rickmansworth, co. Hertford; the journal, to which further comments have been added, 1865-1902, by A. H. Barker and others, includes maps showing routes taken; sketches, engravings and photographs; and related and other press cuttings, 1867-1940.
