A manuscript, completed 1 June 1776 (note inside back cover), in the hand of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) containing extracts from historical and other tracts, copies of charters, etc., including 'Annales Oweni Glyndwr' from a manuscript of Lewys Morganwg (ff. 1-4); Brud y Saeson (ff. 23-33); Buchedd Collen (ff. 37-43); charters of Chirk (ff. 47-61) (for the first charter (ff. 47-56) see also Peniarth MS 163, pp. 70-78); an account of Simwnt Fychan (f. 66); etc.

A volume of pedigree collections, mainly of North Wales families, compiled by John Griffith of Cae Cyriog in the parish of Ruabon. The compiler, who starts with his own lineage, describes his work as 'llyfr hanesion Achau ac Arfau amryw wyr boneddigion ac uchelwyr o Gymru; wedy ei gasglu, a'i ysgrifennu gan Sion Gruffydd, mis mai, Ano dni 1697'. -- At the beginning of the manuscript and elsewhere are additions, some of them dated as late as 1815. Besides the pedigrees there are the names of some 'Justices of the Peace within the Parrish of Ruabon for the County of Denbigh since the begining of Queen Elizabeths Reigne', a list of some 'Viccars of Ruabon since the Reformation', 'Coppi Cymraeg o siarter Lladin, Swydd y wayn yn amser Iarll Arundel', copies of inscriptions on tombs at Dolwyddelan, 'a true Copy of all the Matches, & Coats of Armes that are on the walls within the Inner Chamber over the Gate house at the Lower house of Gwyder', etc. -- A 'Bannod i'r llyfr hwn' begins on page 167.

A transcript, by Thomas Taylor Griffith, of 'Llyr Achau Sion Griffith Cae Cyriog', with the shields of arms added in some instances and with additional pedigrees.

Genealogies of Welsh families, in several hands, with additional notes by William Maurice [d. 1680], Cefnybraich, Llansilin; a transcript of a Chirk charter, 1324; a Welsh vocabulary; two pen-and-ink sketches, one depicting Christ healing a cripple and the other depicting two men drinking.

An incomplete Welsh translation by Richard Owen [? 1552] of Joannes Ludovicus Vives: De institutione faeminae Christiana; 'proffwydoliaeth sibli ddoeth'; a Welsh vocabulary - 'henwau arglwydd', etc.; pedigrees - mythological and biblical, Welsh princes, 'Bonedd y Saint', etc.; accounts for corn and straw, 1589; an incomplete copy of the Welsh version of the Earl of Arundel's charter to the inhabitants of Chirk and Chirkland, 1334; a fragment of a transcript of Brut y Brenhinedd; a letter by John Ley; directions concerning preachers by James I; the assize of arms and tables of precedence; medical recipes; and a fragment of an English play (published in Malone Soc. Collections, vol IX (1977) pp. 24-9) in which the sexton of St Denys Church is a character.
