Letters and papers from the library of Ellis William Jones of Plasteg, Bala, largely relating to agricultural co-operation in Wales, and with particular reference to the Welsh Agricultural Organisation Society Limited, Stapleton-Cotton House Limited, etc. Among them are addresses and notes; a notebok containing the names and postal addresses of officers and committee members of agricultural co-operative societies in Wales; letters from J. Nugent Harris, secretary to the Agricultural Society, 1909, Charles O. Hughes, Menai Bridge, 1925, George Florance Irby, 6th baron Boston, 1925, and R. Parry, Bangor, secretary to the Stapleton-Cotton House Ltd, 1925, with some typescript and draft replies; typescript copies of testimonials to E. W. Jones from Lord Boston, Major-General A. E. Sandbach, C.B., D.S.O., Bwlchycibau, Colonel the Hon. R. Stapleton-Cotton [of Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll, etc.], R. J. Lloyd Price, Rhiwlas, Bala, 1911, D. D. Diaries and journals of tours in North and South Wales kept by Walter Davies at various times from 1797 to 1822, and containing references to agriculture and other industries.

Includes miscellaneous correspondence, 1917-18; notes on the national shipyards, 1918; a memorandum on the War Efficiency Group; David Davies, 'The Boom of Beaurocracy [sic] and the Powerlessness of Parliament', undated; a copy of the Report of the Inter-Departmental Committee on Tuberculosis, 1919; a file of papers on Aircraft Acceptance Park, 1917-18; a paper on Welsh agriculture; correspondence and papers, 1917, on the Royal Army Medical Corps; and a copy of Sir Henry Norman's report on disabled soldiers, 1916.

The file contains an envelope addressed to 'John Rees, Adviser in Agricultural Botany'; correspondence, 1923-1925, between John Rees and D. Lleufer Thomas relating to the Welsh Housing & Development Association Yearbook, 1924; a letter from the National Museum of Wales to the National Library of Wales, 1955, enclosing the material as a donation from John Rees's widow, and a copy of the acknowledgement letter from the Library to Mrs Rees, 1955.

Correspondence and papers, 1896-1897, relating to aspects of the land question in Wales, including the manifold problems faced by Welsh tenant farmers, the report of the Royal Commission on Land in Wales, the convention of public meetings and conferences, and the appointment of delegates to attend conferences. The correspondents include H. Tobit Evans, 1896, D. Lloyd George, 1896, and W. Llywelyn Williams, 1896.
