Correspondence re. Welsh Ordnance Survey maps

Eleven letters, May 1892, to T. E. Ellis, MP, concerning the accuracy of Welsh place names on Ordnance Survey maps and the submission of evidence to the Departmental Committee on the Ordnance Survey. The correspondents include J. Gwenogfryn Evans, D. Silvan Evans, John Edward Lloyd (2), Egerton Phillimore and G. J. Williams.

Origins for the history of Wales

'A collection of Origins for the History of Wales, with an estimate of their value (on the lines of Stubbs's Select Charters or Protheroe's select Documents)...', submitted for competition at the National Eisteddfod at Llangollen, 1908. There are insets and marginal additions in the hand of Professor J. E. Lloyd, Bangor, who was one of the adjudicators. The prize was withheld.

The letters, 1897-1924, discuss the work of the Guild of Graduates of the University of Wales, especially its Literature Section, the publication of Gweithiau Morgan Llwyd o Wynedd, and the work of re-printing the Welsh classics by the Guild. There are also references to the internal politics of the University of Wales and the colleges at Aberystwyth and Bangor and to other appointments in which Sir John Edward Lloyd had an interest.
