The file comprises letters from David Jones at Northwick Lodge, Harrow-on-the-Hill, to Father Desmond Chute (fifteen letters, 1952-1953, together with one other letter, 1956). These letters largely consist of David Jones's answers to Father Chute's queries concerning The Anathemata. There is also a typescript copy of the first letter and three typescript copies of a slightly abbreviated text of this letter.

The file comprises a typescript review of The Anathemata by Father Desmond Chute (published in The Downside Review, vol. 71, no. 225 (July 1953), pp. 339-43, three copies), together with two letters concerning the publication of this review (Dom Illtyd Trethowan to Father Chute, 13 April 1953, and Father Chute to Dom Sebastian [Moore], 17 May 1953).
