Unwaith y datblygodd yr Academi ddwy Adran fe fu'n rhaid datblygu corff rheoli i fwrw golwg dros weithgaredd y ddwy. Ffurfiwyd Cyngor yr Academi a oedd yn cynnwys swyddogion y ddwy Adran ar gyfer hyn. Cyfarfyddant yn rheolaidd bob rhyw ddau fis. Digwyddodd cyfarfod cyffredinol o aelodau dwy adran yr Academi gyda'i gilydd am y tro cyntaf ym 1979.
Once the Academi had developed into two Sections it was necessary to create a body which would oversee the work of the two sections. The Academi Council was therefore created and included officials of both Sections. They met regularly, about every two months. The first joint Annual General meeting was held in 1979.
