History
The Welsh Industries Association Fund Committee was established to investigate the position of weaving and cognate crafts in Wales. The capital of the Welsh Industries Fund was handed over to the University by the Association in 1920 for the establishment of scholarships for weaving, carving, or some industry fostered by the Association. The University, through the medium of a committee, applied the funds in the first instance to the preparation of a report on the Welsh textile industry by W.P. Crankshaw in 1925-1926.
