Note

Moira Vincentelli, artist, lecturer, curator and writer, studied at Edinburgh College of Art. She has taught art history at the University of Wales Aberystwyth since 1971 and is currently the university’s curator of ceramics. Professor Vincentelli sits on several public committees, such as the Crafts Council of Great Britain and the Arts Council of Wales, has curated numerous national touring exhibitions of ceramics and is a frequent speaker at art and craft conferences. She is a founding member of the National Centre for Ceramics in Wales. Her interest in gender studies is reflected in her publications, which include Women and Ceramics: Gendered Vessels (Manchester University Press, 2000), Women Potters: Transforming Traditions (A & C Black, 2003) (with Jo Dahn) and Sankofa: Ceramic Tales from Africa (2006).
