History

William Washington Owen, a Welsh Baptist minister, was born in Llandudno, Caernarfonshire, Wales, in 1889. He moved to Ynysybwl, Glamorgan, in 1908 and later attended the Collegiate Graig Wen, Pontypridd for two years before returning to live at Llandudno Junction. In 1916 he was ordained at Horeb Welsh Baptist Church, Llandudno Junction, Caernarfonshire. He was successively minister at Bethesda, Caernarfonshire, 1926-1933, Tonypandy, Glamorgan, 1933-1951, and Bedlinog, Glamorgan, from 1951 until his retirement in 1962. Following his retirement he moved to Llanidloes, Montgomeryshire, where he died in 1969.
