A collection of holograph manuscripts of musical compositions by Joseph David Jones (1827-1870).

The file comprises papers, 1960 and 1970, relating to Joseph David Jones, Ruthin (1827-1870), schoolmaster and composer, including a typescript autobiography copied from the original, a typescript copy of an account of J. D. Jones by the Rev. H. Elvet Lewis which appeared in the British Weekly, 21 May 1908, letters and press cuttings regarding the centenary of his death. The papers were collected, in all probability, by Mr Oswald Davies, Ruthin, and transferred at some point to the care of Mr T. I. Ellis.

The 1939 deposit consists of deeds and documents, 1549-1887, relating to properties in Montgomeryshire, Merionethshire, Breconshire and Shropshire. The 1973 deposit mainly contains deeds and documents, 1564-1932, relating to properties in Montgomeryshire, many relating to the Lloyd family of Montgomery. The 1979 deposit comprises materials gathered by J. D. K. Lloyd for a History of Montgomery; a bundle of deeds and documents, [19 cent.]-[20 cent.], relating to the family of Lloyd of Plas Trefaldwyn, Montgomery, and Castell Forwyn, Abermule; photographic albums, 1898-1978, comprising mainly family photographs; a collection of over 1000 postcards and photographs of historic buildings throughout Europe; and seven manuscript maps of land in Montgomeryshire, 1772-1858.

Dyfnallt Owen relating to the imprisonment of Breton nationalists and the alleged suppression of Breton language and culture by the French state following the Second World War, consisting of correspondence, written accounts of the treatment of individual nationalists, papers relating to the visit of the Welsh delegation to Brittany in 1947, a typescript draft of Yann Fouéré, Breton Nationalism (Cardiff, [1946]), and other general papers.

An essay by J. E. Thomas, Wrexham entitled The best way of promoting the highest interests of Wales, which was awarded a prize at the Caernarvon national eisteddfod, 1894; also included is the adjudication of Sir William Thomas Lewis (1837-1914), afterwards 1st baron Merthyr.

Deeds of the Myfod family of Tremeirchion, Flintshire, 1657-1727, and of their successors by marriage, the Jones family of Ffynnon Feuno, Tremeirchion, 1746-1781, and the sale of Ffynnon Feuno to Thomas Pennant of Downing, 1784. Deeds relating to New Inn and Tanybryn, 1793-1796, Tynyrafon in Tremeirchion, 1810-1821, and properties, including Gadlys, in the parish of Holywell, 1813-1873.
