Arddleen is in the parish of Llandrinio, Montgomeryshire. Tabernacle is descended from the Calvinistic Methodist cause in the neighbouring parish of Guilsfield, which began in 1774. The earliest surviving baptism register begins in 1810, and the first Tabernacle was built in 1820. Subscriptions amounting to £62 towards rebuilding Tabernacle chapel were collected from 35 families and individuals in 1839, and the new chapel was built in 1840. The chapel house was built in 1844, and the schoolroom in 1903. Tabernacle celebrated its centenary during Whit week 1920, including publishing a history and unveiling a memorial tablet to the men of Tabernacle who died in the Great War. According to the Presbyterian Church of Wales website, the chapel is still active in July 2005.
