History
In 1985 Brith Gof was commissioned to perform at a ‘Bible Festival’. The festival, held in the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, launched a four year programme of events, celebrations and publications to mark the four-hundred anniversary of the publication of William Morgan’s Welsh translation of the Bible in 1588. Clifford McLucas was invited by the company to work with them, the outcome being the production of a series of large street banners relating to the books of the Old Testament the Acts of the Apostles. These banners were hung on buildings in the village on the day of the festival. In 1987 and 1988 these banners were displayed in the Cathedrals and major churches of Wales during a touring exhibition. A booklet was also published to accompany the exhibition.
