Peter Thomas, Lord Thomas of Gwydir (1920-2008), was the first Conservative Secretary of State for Wales (1970-1974) and the first Welshman to become Chairman of the Conservative Party (1970-1972). Born in Llanrwst, where his father was a solicitor, he read Law at Jesus College, Oxford. After the war, where he served in the RAF and spent four years as a prisoner of war, he continued with his studies and became a barrister, and was called to the Bar at the Middle Temple in 1947; took Silk in 1965. He was elected as the Member of Parliament for Conway between 1951 and 1966 and for Hendon South between 1970 and 1987. After retiring from the House of Commons at the 1987 General Election, The Right Honourable Peter John Mitchell Thomas, QC, was created Baron Thomas of Gwydir, of Llanrwst in the County of Gwynedd.

The political papers of Lord Temple-Morris, including correspondence, addresses and articles on a variety of subjects during the course of his career. Papers of Sir David Rowe-Beddoe, later Baron Rowe-Beddoe of Kilgetty, businessman and life peer who was a crossbench member of the House of Lords from 2006 until his death in 2023. The 2014 group (no's 14-66) comprises family and political papers, including letters to his parent from Penang, 1930-1934, Cabinet Office, Colonial Office and Commonwealth papers relating to various colonies, particularly Sarawak and Burma, 1947-1970, and the investiture of the prince of Wales, 1967-1973.

The cuttings relate mainly to the Merthyr, Aberdare and Cardiff areas. They relate mainly to the industrial and commercial life of south Wales and some to political activities. A few concern Lord Senghennydd himself.

The papers of Gordon MacDonald, 1st Baron MacDonald of Gwaenysgor (1888-1966) comprising correspondence, copies of documents, speeches, transcripts for radio broadcasts, diplomatic dispatches, diaries, photographs and ephemera. They relate mainly to his political career as Labour Member of Parliament for Ince, Regional Controller for the Ministry of Fuel and Power for the Lancashire, Cheshire, and North Wales Region during WW2, Governor of Newfoundland and Paymaster General as well as his political interests in the Labour Party and international affairs and his Christian faith. The papers from his period in Newfoundland deal extensively with the negotiations and referenda related to confederation with Canada as well as the resulting political fallout.

A booklet containing transcripts, [18 cent, last ¼], of two letters, dated 6 July 1755 [sic] at Bryn Kyr [Brynkir], Caernarvonshire (ff. 1-10), and 14 July 1755 [sic] at Shrewsury (ff. 10 verso-16), from George Lyttelton, 1st Baron Lyttelton, ostensibly to his brother [Charles], describing a tour through parts of Shropshire and North Wales.
The text, with some differences, was published in The Works of George Lord Lyttelton…, pub. by George Edward Ayscough, Esq. (London: printed for J. Dodsley, in Pall-Mall, 1774, ESTC T79264), pp. 736-751; in print, however, the letters are addressed to 'Mr [Archibald] Bower' and are dated 1756.
