This collection contains a series of newsletters and bulletins produced by the Wales Anti-Apartheid Movement (WAAM), together with correspondence and notices of meetings from local Anti-Apartheid groups across Wales, including Aberystwyth, Glamorgan, and Deeside/North Wales. It also includes activist correspondence, campaign guidance, instructions on establishing Anti-Apartheid societies, boycott lists, campaign literature, and other organisational materials. Also included are conference reports and related documentation from a student Anti-Apartheid conference held at University College Swansea, attended by approximately 50 delegates, including press statements for the first student Anti-Apartheid conference. The records document student participation in the Anti-Apartheid Movement and comprise conference papers, correspondence, minutes, reports, and instructional manuals. The collection further contains correspondence and newspaper cuttings relating to churches and their involvement with the Anti-Apartheid Movement, as well as exchanges between WAAM and various trade unions concerning opposition to the apartheid regime, including details of financial contributions and organisational support. In addition, there is correspondence between WAAM and local authorities throughout Wales relating to grant applications, responses, meeting arrangements, permissions for rallies, and other administrative matters connected with Anti-Apartheid activities.
