William Foulkes of Jesus College, Oxford, Doctor of Law. Assignment of a share of the lease of the church, rectory, parsonage and dividend of Llansillin, cos. Denbigh and Salop, the mansion house belonging to the same, and all houses, glebe lands, rents, services, tithes, etc., thereto appertaining, to the second party hereto in trust. They were to pay William Foulkes, who was a nephew of the first party, ten pounds annually as interest for a sum of £200 given by the said William Foulkes to his uncle. The remainder of the rents, profits, etc., due were to be paid to the said Richard Mathewes during his life, and afterwards to the said William Foulkes. The lease had been granted by the bishop, dean and chapter of St. Asaph to Richard Mathewes and Ellis ap Ellis 26 Aug. 1708, for a term of twenty one years, at an annual rent of £100 (£20 to the bishop, £4 to each of 15 canons of whom the bishop was one, and £20 to the use of the vicar). A fine of £100 was to be paid at the end of each seven year period for renewing the lease, and William Foulkes covenanted to pay £50, which was his uncle's share.
