Cuttings from newspapers and magazines, [1957]-2002, taken from both the national and local press, many in photocopied form, and which often quote Philip Weekes, consisting of general news cuttings, covering various aspects of the coal industry, [1957]-2002; cuttings specifically concerning the Aberfan disaster, 1966-1967; and cuttings about a visit of the Prince of Wales to St John's Colliery at Maesteg, 1974-1981.

Action: The majority of the items in the series have been retained apart from a number of duplicate news cuttings and photocopied cuttings which have been destroyed. Authority for the destruction of these items is given in Appraisal Form MRR/2005-06/3iv..
