Scope and content
A small group of papers, 1902, concerning the 'Bethesda Welsh Choir' / 'y Côr Cymreig o Bethesda' (f. 1), being Choir No. 2 of the Penrhyn Relief Fund, relating to a fundraising tour of London and South-East England during the Penrhyn Quarry Strike of 1900-1903.
The papers comprise a collection of signatures and autograph postal addresses of twenty-three choir members, 28 October 1902 (f. 1), 16 December 1902 (f. 2 recto-verso) and undated (ff. 3, 4), together with a note in the hand of C. Sheridan Jones, author of the book What I Saw at Bethesda (London, 1903) and secretary of the London Central Relief Fund Committee (f. 2 verso). These were written to thank their host on both occasions, Mrs [Harriet J.] Boggis, 4 Pembury Road, [Tottenham, London]. A group photograph of the choir is also included (f. 5), while a set of printed photographs of choir members, taken from an unidentified publication, have been individually mounted on f. 1 verso.
