Deeds, 1815-1931, relating to the manor of Llanfihangel Talyllyn and other properties in Brecknockshire, together with a court book, 1859-1908, of the manor of Llanfihangel Talyllyn; notebooks and exercise books, containing notes on historical, genealogical, and heraldic material mainly about the town and county of Brecon, taken from various printed and manuscript sources; notes and sketches relating to the armorial bearings of Brecknockshire families, and extensive transcripts of parish registers and of monumental inscriptions; a file of typescript notes concerning the Breconshire Agricultural Society; some notes in the hand of John Lloyd compiled in pursuance of his historical researches; a file of notes, transcripts, and correspondence relating to the parish of Llanfeugan; a manuscript volume, compiled c. 1880, of transcripts of inscriptions, sometimes with additional notes and sketches, of tablets and monuments in Brecknockshire churches and a few Nonconformist chapels, drawings of archaeological remains, etc.; a further file of transcripts of monumental inscriptions in several Breconshire churches and churchyards; a scrap- book of newspaper cuttings relating to the Turco-Greek war of 1897; and a group of eleven deeds, mainly of Brecknockshire interest, 17th-19th cent.

An Esay towards the History of Brecknockshire (transcript)

A volume containing a transcript by William Hall, Brecon, made in 1793 when he was aged 16 (see p. 135), of 'An Esay towards the History of Brecknockshire' written in 1698 by Hugh Thomas, herald and antiquary. Two letters, 1930, from Gwenllian E[lizabeth] F[anny] Morgan to the Venerable Henry James Church Jones regarding the provenance of the original manuscript and copies of it have been tipped in between pp. 137 and 143.

The History of Brecknock (transcript)

A transcript by George Owen of a short work entitled The History of Brecknock. The work contains a short chronicle of events in British history up to the Norman invasion and the conquests of Bernard Newmarch. The manuscript is in English apart from ff. 14v-15v, which is a text in Welsh entitled '[Llyma tai]r def[od ar] dd[eg] a haner [y gafas hoe]ll ap trehaearn gan Reinall [Debre]rois arglwydd Brecheinog o gyfyndeb gwlad ag arglwydd'.
