According to this account Iolo Morganwg 'was one of three among whom was Mungo Park, appointed on the African expedition, on a voyage of discovery in search of the source of the Nile [?Niger], .... He fully intended going, but owing to the remonstrances of his family & friends, was included to relinquish his intention'.
