Administrative history
Zion Chapel was an important meeting place in the parish of Broughton. At the time of the proceedings of the Welsh Church Commissioners in 1905, the chapel had 230 adherents and 92 communicants. The last service in the chapel was held on 20 December 1997. It then closed its doors.

The fonds contains the records of Zion Chapel, Blacklane, Pentre Broughton, comprising a register of births, baptisms and deaths, 1960-1995; a minute book of members' meetings, 1967-1997; and two treasurers' books, 1986-1997.
