Biographical history
Douglas Houston, writer, poet, and academic, was born in Cardiff in 1947. He grew up in Scotland, and later moved to Hull, Yorkshire. He returned to Wales, to the Aberystwyth area, in 1981. His poetry has been published in the collections With the Offal Eaters, 1986, The Hunters in the Snow, 1994, and The Welsh Book of the Dead, 2001. His doctoral thesis 'Myths of Place: the importance of Landscapes in the Poetries of W. H. Auden and Seamus Heaney', was completed in 1986.
