Swansea Asylum Seekers Support is a volunteer-led registered charity established in 1999 by local people who included refugees. A twice-weekly drop-in facility was set up in 2001 which offers practical support together with educational and recreational opportunities.

Established in 2006, Swansea Women's Asylum and Refugee Support Group is run by and for asylum seekers and refugees with the support of a British Chair and primarily seeks to promote social and civic engagement in local events and projects through collaboration and networking. The group maintains a close relationship with Swansea's National Waterfront Museum (see National Waterfront Museum), where they generally meet.
