Appendix,

The appendix consists of a group of miscellaneous documents not apparently described by Walter de Grey Birch. The descriptions were drawn up soon after receipt by NLW. They remained un-numbered until 1976.

Arbitration and legal papers,

Arbitration and legal papers of the families of Maurice of Clenennau, Owen and Ormsby-Gore of Brogyntyn, Wynn of Glyn and others, 1410-1834. The arbitration awards are usually the result of disputes over boundaries or title which did not proceed to court, [c. 1429]-1822, and the legal papers derive from court cases, mostly equity proceedings over property, title or inheritance of estates in Wales and Shropshire, 1410-1834. Documents prior to the beginning of the eighteenth century contain a substantial proportion of Latin.

Archaeological research papers

The group contains papers relating to a wide range of Derrick Webley's interests in archaeological research, and consists mainly of material accumulated in preparation for his article on the palaeolithic geography of sites at Klithi, Asprochaliko and Kastritsa in the Epirus region of Greece. The article was published as Sturdy, Derek, Webley, Derrick and Bailey, Geoff, 'The palaeolithic geography of Epirus' in Bailey, G. N. (ed.) Klithi: Palaeolithic Settlement and Quaternary Landscapes in Northwest Greece (Cambridge: 1997), vol. 2 ch. 30.
