Papers of John Morgan Howell of Aberaeron, 1871-1960, including exercise books containing a memorandum for 1871 and a history, in Welsh, of Dr Thomas Phillips, Neuaddlwyd, by J. M. Howell; books of press cuttings containing articles relating to Aberaeron, 1873-1931, operas, 1920-1960 (collected by G[eraint] M. Howell), and the poetry, 1889-1921, of Margaret Aeron Davies; and articles by J. M. Howell, 1897; family correspondence, 1888-1926, and miscellaneous letters and papers, 1875-1946; a volume of typescript copies of Christmas carols in Welsh composed by J. M. Howell, collected and bound by J. Seymour Rees, 1941; and a pedigree of the Howells family of Penybaily, parish of Llangunllo; together with some papers of his daughter, the late Mrs Nesta Poulgrain (née Nesta Howell), including a diary of a journey to Naples [by Mrs Poulgrain, 1937]; and exercise books, containing a copy of the diary and poetry (1918).

Notebooks, 1946-71, in Welsh, of Kate Davies containing reviews of her published books and lecture notes, 1969, on Castellhywel, Llandysul, in 1906-7, and on the poetry of her father, Daniel Thomas (1866-1942) and David Davies, Penlôn, Gyfeile, Llandysul, beirdd gwlad, along with copies of their poems. Miscellaneous papers found loose inside the volume have been filed separately (MS 23116iiD).

Correspondence, 1970-1977, accumulated by Meic Stephens in the course of editing Artists in Wales, volumes 1-3 (Llandysul, 1971-1977), from artists in the fields of literature, drama, music and the visual arts; letters, 1977-1978, from poets invited to contribute to Green Horse : an anthology by young poets of Wales edited by him (Swansea, 1978); letters, 1978-1979, relating to The Welsh Language Today (second edition, Llandysul, 1979); and correspondence, 1986-1987, between Meic Stephens and Lady Amy Parry-Williams relating to the former's translations into English of essays by T. H. Parry-Williams, published in The White Stone - six essays by T. H. Parry-Williams (Llandysul, 1987).

Notebook, 1959-1961, of Caradog Prichard, poet and journalist, containing a fragment of a diary, in English, 3 November 1959-26 January 1960 (ff. 3-14 rectos); 'A Scheme For A Daily Newspaper In The Welsh Language' (ff. 16-18 rectos); notes for, and fragmentary draft of, Un Nos Ola Leuad (1961) (ff. 18v, 19-23 rectos, 61v); numerous drafts of poems, mainly of parts of 'Cân yr Hen' from his ode 'Cymru'; and miscellaneous notes and personal memoranda.
