Wedding Photograph endorsed by Mrs Jano Clement-Davies, 'Geraint, the son of Gwen and grandson of Morgan Davies, MD, FRCS, and his wife Ann after marriage'.
Was very impressed by Clement Davies's speech at the Liberal Conference-it must convert many to Liberalism. [Copy of reply from Clement Davies attached].
Was pleased to see a reference to recipient in Punch. The American Press is absorbed by the war, and hundreds of Jews are arriving on every ship. Yet recipient would not be allowed to come to the USA. 'Roosevelt has filled nearly every key post in his government with men and women who know nothing of the ideals for which our ancestors have shed their blood.' Writer has been forbidden to visit England, France and Holland. Has travelled to Germany and was impressed by conditions there-an atmosphere of calm and confidence comparable to that of 1870. The English do not know very much of the German enemy. Churchill and Chamberlain are not statesmen, merely 'politicians in a crisis'.
